A truck lost control and crashed into a tempo killing the tempo driver. The incident happened at Aamli Chauraha near Vidhyapeeth University, Pratap Nagar road.

The victim, Fateh Singh s/o Mangilal (51), was a resident of UIT colony, Pratapnagar. Yesterday afternoon, he was crossing Aamli Chauraha when a truck coming in high speed from Pratapnagar rammed into his tempo. Fateh Singh was thrown out due to the impact and the truck then passed over him killing him on the spot. The truck driver fled the scene leaving the truck behind.

This was the second death in the area due to accidents this month. Residents of the area said that the area had become heavily accident prone and the administration needs to take cognizance of the same. Due to a sloping gradient from Pratapnagar towards Aamli Chauraha, a lot of heavy vehicles coming at high speed lose control. The speed breakers installed there have worn out and need repair.
