State Home Minister, Gulab Chand Kataria today noted that crime rates in the state have dropped for the third consecutive year. He made his observations today on the occasion of Rajasthan Police Day.

Kataria said that crime rates coming under IPC sections have dropped in the state by 21% in the last 3 years. Crimes against women have also dropped by 21% while crimes against SC/ST related cases have dropped by 40%-44%.

Kataria attributed the reduced crime rate to the efforts of the Rajasthan Police force along with steps taken by State Home Ministry.

New additions to the Police task force will further help in keeping crime in check. Kataria further added that special schemes for Police have also been initiated by Government for keeping the motivation levels of the force high. He talked about Rs 35 Crore budgetary allocation for improving Police capabilities in this year’s budget.
