In a meeting held at Urban Improvement Trust (UIT), it was proposed to make entry of Rajiv Gandhi Park ‘free’ where visitors need not pay any charges for entering public garden.

According to Ashutosh A.T. Pednekar, District Collector, Udaipur, “Free entry proposal is considered so as to attract more and more local masses over this part of city. Although we’ll have to take into account various other outcomes of free entry.”

“The park will be kept open for visitors between 9am to 11 pm every day, where additional decorative lightings will also be facilitated within the park,” said Pednekar.

Pednekar further added that apart from free entry, cultural events of ‘Shakti Sunday’ are also proposed to be organized at Rajiv Gandhi Park.

Pednekar also added that even if the entry to park is made free, no edibles will be allowed to any visitors. Also any unlawful activity in park will be entitled to strict action against individuals involved.
