UDAIPUR TERROR ALERT | Suspect Afghan Terrorist Sketch released by Police

Intelligence Bureau (IB) had received inputs on terrorist movement in Udaipur, Sirohi and Gujarat, with inputs that a probable terror attack will happen in Gujarat.  ATS prepared and released the sketch of the Afghan terror suspect and the sketch has been sent to police and investigation agencies across the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh

Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad have released the sketch of the suspected Afghan terrorist, subsequent to the terrorist infiltration alert being sounded in the evening on 18 August 2019.

As per reports, Intelligence Bureau (IB) had received inputs on terrorist movement in Udaipur, Sirohi and Gujarat, with inputs that a probable terror attack will happen in Gujarat.  ATS prepared and released the sketch of the Afghan terror suspect and the sketch has been sent to police and investigation agencies across the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.  As a precaution the Udaipur – Gujarat border at Ratanpur was sealed late night on 18 August 2019.

Central intelligence agencies had earlier received alerts that 4 members of Pakistan ISI were reported to have entered the country, probably through the border with Rajasthan.  The borders of Rajasthan, Gujaaat and Madhya Pradesh were subsequently sealed.  Suspect vehicles are being thoroughly searched at the checkpoints.  IG Binita Thakur updated media that subsequent to the alert, security has been beefed up in the border areas and CRPF as well as teams from the armed forces have been deployed at the border check points.

Sirohi SP Kalyanmal Meena said that as per the alerts and inputs received, the 4 member suspect terror team belongs to Afghanistan and they have entered India using fake passports.  He further informed that security has been tightened across border towns of Bhatana, Mandar, Maaval and Chhapri and over 50 police have been deployed across 5 new check points. Hotels, restaurants, dhaabas, and other places with crowd possibilities are being searched thoroughly.  The Gujarat border near Mt Abu has also been subjected to additional security.
