After a human killing spree by a man eater Panther in the jungles south of Udaipur, forest officials finally managed to shoot down the man-eater today morning after receiving orders from the Forest office in Jaipur.
A team of forest officials (shooters) led by Arvind Mathur approached the cave in which the Panther was last seen entering last night, subsequent to killing a 13 year old girl in Parsad. The Panther was classified as a man-eater after its second victim. The jungles and villages of Parsad and Tidi area were under threat by this Panther, who resided in a cave in which it was finally shot down.
Arvind Mathur entered the cave and shot down the animal. Shoot at sight orders were issued by APCCF Jaipur, Arvind Tomar. This order was given after the Panther killed its third victim in the last 20 days. The first fatal attack by the Panther was on 24 July, the second 5 August and the 13 year old girl was killed yesterday, 13 August. The girl killed on 13 August was Kalpana, daughter of SOma Meena and resident of Bandarfala, Padhuna.
Villagers had got together and staged a protest and demanded compensation from the government. Currently the villagers are still with the dead body of the girl. Further updates on this development is awaited.
Meanwhile the Panther, after being shot down, is being brought to Udaipur and will be cremated in the forest of Kalka Mata Mandir area near Dudh Talai in Udaipur.
