[UWS PhotoWalk] Gangaur Ghat to Hanuman Ghat

Ghats have been one of the major attractions in Udaipur for Photographers from the very beginning. The people, the ambience and the water effects provide perfect subject to adjust your lenses and click’em.

Considering these factors, group of Photographers from Udaipur Weekend Shoot (UWS) decided to schedule their Photowalk from Gangaur Ghat to Hanuman Ghat on 9th Dec, 2012.

Group, including Piyush Javeria, Paritosh Bhargava, Sanjay Soni, Aayush Devpura and Manish Suryavanshi captured beauty of nature and people at ghats with amazing angles and concepts.

[UWS] Diverse Scrutiny of Moti Magri

Udaipur Week Shoot (UWS), the club dedicated to passionate photographers conducted their last weekend photo walk at Moti Magri, a hill-top garden and a historic place in Udaipur.  Moti Magri is known for its large monument of Maharana Pratap, the undefeated King of Mewar.

Along with the statue of Rana Pratap, the place also consists of beautiful gardens, museum and a scenic view of Lake Fateh Sagar.

The photographers of UWS have described the historic beauty of Udaipur with the plush green garden of Moti Magri, perhaps something that was rarely captured in lens before.

Tomorrow UWS is conducting the Old City Ghat PhotoWalk from 5 PM to 7 PM with the theme of Night Life/Night lights/Landscape/ Portraits. Anyone interested can join the PhotoWalk.

‘Ganpati Bappa Morya!’ : Ganesha Visarjan at Udaipur

Laden with ornaments, flowers and colors, Lord Ganesha’s Visarjan was observed today at the city of lakes. Various local groups, representing communities and localities took out the procession devotedly and marched around the city areas.

All processions reached Gangaur Ghat at Pichola Lake to give final good-bye to their Lord by immersing the idol in lake.

Our photographers Sayeed Ahmed and Gaurav Bhimawat took part in the procession and clicked some of the most amazing photos depicting the saga of utmost affection between devotees and their God.

Jal Jhulani Gyaras in Photos

Rajasthan is a state where every festival is celebrated with much enthusiasm and fun, importantly in Udaipur, the city of lakes which is one among the most colorful cities in the world.

‘Jal Jhulni Gyaras’ one of the most auspicious festival is celebrated after the birth of Lord Krishna, where devotees carry idol of Lord Krishna to the nearby water banks of lakes or ponds.

According to the mythological beliefs, the idol is taken to the lake in a vibrant procession and given a bath. Hundreds of devotees express their fondness by dancing, sprinkling colors and demonstrating artful skills.

Importance of this festival can be predicted very well, as there is a holiday announced by the District Collector in the city. Here are few shots captured to showcase the zeal and feel of the devotion.

Udaipur Bandh in Pictures

The nationwide strike today on 20th September against government approved FDI has certainly stopped the life of a common man. The effect of ‘bandh’ was noticed on roads, rails, schools, offices, market and everywhere in Udaipur.

UT reporters and photographers were on field round-the-clock covering each and every aspect of bandh. The sufferers, the protestors, the police and the apathy of this distressful day has ended but raised many points and questions for everyone of us.

Splendid UdaiSagar Lake

Udaisagar Lake located around 13 Km from Udaipur is witnessing overflow for the second consecutive year. As one among the biggest water bodies of Udaipur, Udaisagar has its own natural beauty.

The overflow of water from the lake is giving that missing punch and pulling the citizens. Though lot of liquid wastes is dumped via number of ways, yet as the nature knocks the door, all wastes gets flushed, a pure and fresh water is left behind.

Dhanmandi in Pictures [UWS]

To nurture and boost their appetite for photography, members of Udaipur Weekend Shoot (UWS) explored one of the busiest markets of Udaipur- Dhanmandi.  Loaded with cameras, they are a bunch of passionate people who come out of their shells every weekend and discover various places around Udaipur.

UWS was founded on the 19th August, World Photography Day, with a motto to form a stage for photo enthusiasts of the city. They organize Weekend Photowalks, where they include everyone who has photography in his interest list, despite of his/her skills.

Today we are showcasing their latest event – Dhanmandi Photowalk where they covered Dhanmandi area of Udaipur for its busy day-life, people and shops. Dhanmandi is situated in the old city area and known for its grains and vegetable market.

UWS’s next event is – Pichola Photowalk on 16th Sept. 2012 where they invite anyone who is interested to join this enthusiastic team.  One does not have to pay anything to be a part of UWS, (s)he just needs to be zealous about photography. At UT BigPics, we would be covering every event of UWS and will showcase the best pictures clicked by them.

Post Fatehsagar Overflow, we at UT decided to capture few shots of mesmerizing Fatehsagar which is flaunting on its high as the rain gods are showing love over the city Udaipur.

People still don’t want to miss any bit of it and one can see clusters everywhere on Paal and Mumbaiya Market at FS.

Night of Celebration Continues

One cannot escape the beauty of Lake Fateh Sagar without getting gripped by it. Be it the overflow, which is turning into an ANNUAL MEGA EVENT or enjoying a serene evening on the promenade of Fateh Sagar. The fervor especially is at its peak during Monsoon when lake attracts crowd throughout the day and even extending late into night.

Today’s evening turned into a magical moment when water started overflowing under the dashing lights. The amazing waterflow in glooming luminosity was a treat for the soul.
