The ending of 2016 will also bring down curtain on the meter-gauge trains from Udaipur to Ahmedabad. North-Western railway gave directions towards stopping the meter gauge trains from plying between Udaipur and Ahmedabad.
Four trains currently ply between Udaipur and Ahmedabad : 19943/44 and 52927/98. These four trains will be stopped with effect from Jan 1, 2017 to facilitate the expedition of broad gauge line between Udaipur and Ahmedabad.
Station Incharge Suganchand Verma informed that they have received a notification towards this from NW Railways office. Hence, 19944 and 52928 will arrive for the last time in Udaipur on Dec 30, 2016 while 19943 and 52927 will depart for the last time from Udaipur to Ahmedabad.
The rail line from Udaipur to Ahmedabad will open now only after the broad-gauge conversion is complete.
