There are folklores attached to the event of Vats Dwadashi which is also known as Bachh Baras.

Women devotees of the city prayed at Gau Shalas (Cow Shelters) and Temples.

Many women were seen at Jagatguru Nimbarkacharya Narayan Devacharya Ashram at Delhi Gate and prayed by putting tilak and garlanding the calf and cow. They also offered fresh grass to the cattle.

On this day, devotees avoid anything made of wheat and milk. Also chopping vegetables/fruits from the knife is refrained.
