A day light ARMED BANK ROBBERY took place at the Punjab National Bank, Madri Industrial Area branch in Udaipur.

5 Armed robbers, having loaded pistols came in a Camper and entered the branch at 40 minutes past 1PM today.  Of the 5 robbers, only one had a cloth covering his face and the faces of the remaining four robbers are clearly visible in the CCTV footage taken from the Branch.

While 2 of the robbers stood guard on the main counter, one of them entered the locker area and the remaining two entered the Teller Counter.  The robbers entered the branch and one of them fired a shot into the air.  There were two officers sitting on the main counter and one in the Teller Counter.  One customer was also sitting in the Branch.  All the four could not move an inch off their seats as the robbers were intimidating with their pistols.

The robbers dressed in tshirts and jeans with a cloth on their heads (except one who had masked his full face) took of with the money in the Teller counter and a laptop from the Teller Counter.  The entire episode took less than 1 minute to execute. Rs 19 Lakh in all was carried away by the robbers.

Police were alerted and road blocks have been set up across the district following the day light armed loot at the Punjab National Bank in Madri Industrial Area, Udaipur. Questions that remained unanswered were the absence of an armed guard and the police investigations post the incident.
