Government is planning to keep Saturdays happy and fruitful for school children. Going ahead with an overall development of students, it has been decided to keep 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month an eventful and fun day for the children.

Educational, emotional and creative development is important for the children. In the absence of any one of these, the other two aspects get affected. Going forth with this thought in mind, government has planned that 2nd Saturday and 4th Saturday will be more of a half-bag-day for the school children. As per this, students will study in the first half of the day and post lunch they will all involve in fun and developmental activities. It has been proposed that groups be made for the students i.e. 1st to 5th standard, 6th to 8th standard and 9th to 12th standard, wherein each group will have an in-charge who will select a particular activity for the children and the children will then follow accordingly.

The objective is to develop the following points in children:

  • Creative development
  • Communicational and participational development
  • Concentration, discussion and reasoning skills
  • The art of learning together
  • Learning in a tension free atmosphere
  • Development of values

The activities highlighted for this are:

Debates, Mantra enchantment, music, poetry, inspiration from great leaders, best out of waste, art, drawing, interactions with doctors, lawyers, police, bank employees etc, physical activities, social and sensitive issues.
