Seva mandir along with Ummedmal Lodha Memorial trust held the 18^th Environment award ceremony in Vidhya Bhawan Auditorium on Sunday. There were three categories of awards.

The chief guest for the ceremony was IFS G.V. Reddy who laid emphasis on the fact that the natives need to come forward for forest conservation because they are the ones who are affected by forests in every way. He also said that rural, urban and industrial people need to join hands for the conservation of forests.

On this occasion, the Sayar Kanwar Lodha scholarship was given to Raseela Gamaar. Priyanka -the main organiser of Seva Mandir,  Hemraj –President of Ummedmal Lodha trust and Ajay Singh Mehta – PresidentSeva Mandir also opined in the ceremony.

Forests provide us with wood. But the most important part is that forests control rain, flood, soil erosion and of course the wild life which are extremely important for ecological balance of nature.  The release of oxygen would not have been possible had there been no trees.

Forest conservation is the biggest necessity today as the entire nation has been gripped by pollution which is a result of cutting down of trees for space. Plant a tree before you cut down one should be the thought in every body’s mind. Trees also provide shelter to many birds and they are the home for monkeys, too, who have started rushing to cities for want of food and shelter.
