A four-day Cultural Theatre Festival will be organised at Darpan Sabhaghar (auditorium) of Shilgram from 20th to 23rd March. Festival will be organise jointly by West Zone Cultural Centre and National School of Drama, New Delhi.

A four-day Cultural Theatre Festival will be organised at Darpan Sabhaghar (auditorium) of Shilgram from 20th to 23rd March. Festival will be organise jointly by West Zone Cultural Centre and National School of Drama, New Delhi.

The festival will host plays by renowned dramatists of the country, Ratan Thiyam, K.N.Panikkar, Surya Mohan Kulashretha and Vaman Kendre.

Center director Furqan Khan told that this the first time that a classical drama festival is being organised jointly by WZCC and National School of Drama. The festival will have four plays that will be staged for four consecutive days at Darpan Sabhaghar of Shilgram.

Furqan further informed that the theatrical creations of India’s reputed dramatists will be staged in this theatrical festival organized to promote theatrical activities and to keep people connected with classic theatre. The four-day event will be inaugurated by the Chorus Repertory Theatre Team on March 20 from the stage of the play directed by Ratan Thiyam.

Second day of the festival, on 21st March, K.N.Panikkar-directed drama, Shashakkuntalamash will be performed. On 22 March, the play by NPA Lucknow, directed by Surya Mohan Kulashretha will be staged.

On March 23, the last day of the four-day festival, a play will be staged by the institution of Mumbai’s Rang Peeth, Shashmohe Piyash (directed by Vaman Kendra). Entry will be free for theatrical lovers at the four day drama festival.
