Gram Sevaks from the region today staged a protest outside collectorate demanding resolution of their 11-point demand charter. The protest was held under the banner of Rajasthan Gram Sevak Sangh.
The protesters first staged a protest outside collectorate today morning and raised slogans. They later turned half-naked and started begging on the road outside collectorate. The protesters said that 320 of their members retired in 2010 are yet to receive their pension. Hence, if the Government does not have money to give these pensioners, then the protesters will beg and give the collected money to Government so that they can give out the pension amount.
Gram sevaks also demanded that their work load be reduced. They also raised requirement for filling up of vacant positions. The protesters said that if their demands are not met till 18 Mar then they will boycott PM Aawas Yojana inauguration function in Banswara on 18 Mar.
Further, the protesters threatened to carry out a march and protest at Vidhan Sabha in Jaipur. They also threatened that they will derail the Panchayat Land Patta Abhiyan slated for April.
