Hundreds Demonstrated at Badgaon Tehsil

Officials of Badgaon tehsil had to face mass protest against anti-encroachment drive, where hundreds of villagers demonstrated outside tehsil office demanding Patta for their houses.

The houses were demolished on ground of encroachment on government land without any prior notice.

According to Deepak Sharma, President, Panchayat Samiti Badgaon,”Officials of tehsil demolished houses of few villagers residing on hill side. Prior to this action no notice was provided to the residents intimating about such drive.”

Deepak also added that these villagers are dwelling on land for past 30 years, which makes them eligible for Chief Minister Housing Scheme, but none of them were given any house under the scheme. He further added that as per recent declarations, all those residing on government land are entitled for temporary patta of respective land, and tehsil did not even fulfill that for benefits of villagers.

According to Satnam Verma, Tehsildar, Badgaon Tehsil, he received complaint about new encroachments in the village which were demolished, although those villagers endorsing a Voter ID will not be considered as encroachers.

There is no place for the poor in this country. Maybe they should migrate to Pakistan!
UT should investigate further on the claims of villagers and Tehsildar.
By the way will the Tehsildar look in to the encroachment of the road outside his office! And do something about clearing the road.
