The heritage electric poles in Sahiwalon ki Gali and Kheman Ghati in Bhattiyani chohatta were suddenly removed on Monday. As per information, the poles were removed for a film shoot which is to happen on 13^th April. After opposition from the area residents, the poles were replanted.

The poles in both the above mentioned lanes were removed without information as a result of which the residents had to spend the night without electricity which was unbearable because of heat. The residents complained about this issue to Councillor Devendra Javalia. As a matter of fact, even the councillor was unaware of the situation as he had no prior information about this. When the Mayor was informed about this, he in turn contacted the president of the electricity committee. This is when it was clarified that electricity poles were removed for a film shoot and Municipal Corporation was directed by District Administration to do so. After opposition of the residents of these areas, the electricity poles were reinstalled.
