Limited water supply after 10th May

The situation is alarming. Lake City is helplessly witnessing the drying up of its beautiful lakes which are the sources of drinking water. The dams providing water to the lakes have also gone absolutely dry. Fatehsagar Lake is at -4.5 feet and Lake Pichola is at SIL level. Badi Lake is also left with very less water. Following this water scarcity, the Water Resource Department has decided to supply water once in 72 hours post 10th May.

The first stage of limited water supply will begin with ward 32 to ward 38 of Pratapnagar area. This is likely to affect around 11 thousand consumers of the area. As of now, water is being supplied at alternate days. As per the officials of the water department, areas which are directly connected with Mansi Vakal Project will be supplied with water at longer intervals. Pratapnagar area was not supplied water on Wednesday due to shortage. The area will get its share of water supply today (Thursday). After this, the 72 hour interval system will begin. From 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., the area will get water but in different slots. The rural areas are facing the trouble of water shortage already and are being supplied water by means of water tankers.
