Senior NCC cadets appeared today for ‘B’ Certificate Exam conducted by the NCC Headquarters at M.B College Ground. In the exam, around 900 Students from various schools and colleges participated in this annual Upgrade test.
The test was conducted for Senior Wing and Senior Division Cadets from Udaipur, Rajsmand, Chittorgarh, Banswara and Pratapgarh districts comprising of Army, Air force and Navy cadets. It started with practical session in the morning, which included Drill, Weapon Handling, Compass Navigation, Dressing and Confidence etc, and concluded with the written test.
Participation criteria for ‘B’ certificate are – compulsory attendance of 75% in Cadet’s respective schools or colleges and cadet should have attended at least one training camp in present session. After the test, students with percentage above 50 will become eligible to participate in ‘C’ certificate after a year.
Col. I.S Sehdeva, Group Commander informed that cadets would be further divided on grounds of grades earned in this exam, i.e 70 and Above will be given A grade, 60-70% will be given B grade while below 60% will be awarded C grade.
Col. Sehdeva further added that weapon handling was carried on 3 majorly operated 7.62 SLR, .22 Riffle and LMG (all without cartridge) used in Indian Army. He added that this Certificate is broadly divided into 3 levels, school level cadets appear for ‘A’ certificate, senior school level and college level cadets appear for ‘B’ certificate and the eligible cadets appear finally in ‘C’ certificate.
