Chain, bag and mobile snatchers are over active and are moving terror free in Udaipur city. Many people were victimised by these snatchers on Sunday. When public was in a mood to enjoy their weekend in a good weather, these thugs found an opportunity to snatch whatever they could.

2 families and a female doctor became the victims of these thugs. The families were moving out for picnic and the female doctor was going for some work. It was 9:15 a.m. when Basant moved out from Kheradiwada on his bike with wife and kid. They had barely crossed the Gumaniya vala nallah at 9:55 when 2 men on bike came from behind and snatched the bag which the kid was holding. Basant shouted and tried to follow these men but they escaped through the lane near Big Bazar. He then informed one of the traffic police and then registered a report with Ambamata police. His bag contained 10,000 rupees and a mobile.

The second incident occurred at 10:20 a.m. Mahesh Ameta was on his way to Fatehpura with his wife. His wife was carrying a hand bag which was snatched by these 2 men. The bag had a mobile and 6,000 rupees. Mahesh was in such a shock after the incident that he had to take medical assistance.

The 3^rd incident took place at 11:56 a.m. Dr Jyoti Agrawal was at Triveni Hospital. The moment she got down from her 2-wheeler, the bike riders came and snatched the bag from her hand. Her mobile was in the bag which was switched off after the incident by the snatchers.

As informed by police, these bike riders Mukesh and Motilal changed their bike at Syphen choraha, and then both moved on different bikes. The bike used during the crime was taken away by Mukesh while Motilal took another stolen bike and went towards Thoor. Special Task Force managed to nab Motilal at Thoor based on the CCTV footages obtained from different areas.

5 days prior to the incidents, Motilal was in jail and had come out on bail. He stole a doctor’s bike and even snatched a wallet from a passer-by. There are cases of robbery and theft against him in Sukher police station. Mahesh also has cases going on against him and he is now being searched for.
