A transformer blasted in Ayad area late Friday night. As a result the area faced a blackout. Even the main Ayad road went completely dark. Due to some fault in the electricity cables, the transformer blasted creating a loud sound which scared the residents of this area. Police was informed along with the electricity department. Since the cables fell on the ground, there were chances of mishap hence police had to be called for taking control of the situation as the road required blocking. The electricity department had started with the repair work immediately.
