Banks to stay closed from 26th to 29th September

Several banks across the country are going to stay closed from 26th to 29th September. Bank employees are going to be on strike on 26th September and 27th September against the merger of the banks. They also have certain demands. 4 bank unions will be on strike on Thursday and Friday i.e. 26th and 27th, 28th September is 4th Saturday which is a bank holiday and 29th September is Sunday.

As informed by the Regional Secretary of State Bank of India Officers Association, the strike will begin past midnight of 25th September and will be carried on until 27th Sept. Members of 4 unions- All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC), All India Bank Officers’ Association (AIBOA), Indian National Bank Officers Congress (INBOC) and National Organization Of Bank Officers NOBO will be on strike.

As informed by Lead bank manager Balendu Prasad, the strike has nothing to do with Lead bank. He also said that ATMs will have sufficient cash but trouble may arise only if they fall short of cash. Whether the strike will happen or not will be finalised on 25th Sept.
