Udaipur resident arrested in Mumbai on charges of theft

Police in Mumbai have arrested two people, believed to be part of a larger gang, and allegedly having a role to play in over 50 robberies in the metropolis.  They are on the lookout for their accomplice.

One of the two arrested, Laxman Dulia Meena, 26, is a resident of Udaipur, and the other Vishnu Prabhat Dey, 20, is from Goregaon.  A police officer, from VP Road Police station provided this information.  Laxman and Vishnu are said to have met inside Thane jail, where they were serving sentences for robbery and dacoity.  They got together and planned to rob houses together.  They are alleged to have committed robberies in other states as well.

The third accomplice, who used to help them sell the stolen good, is allegedly on the run.  The threesome used to target buildings where renovation work was on and the accommodations became soft targets.
