City of Lakes is undergoing a substantial transformation keeping up with the momentum of being considered in the 100 Smart City list proposed by the current Government.

As a part of the activities, the Krishi Mandi (Fruit and Vegetables) at Savina, Udaipur has also implemented a comprehensive Surveillance system at the vast open premises.

Udaipur based system integrator, Unico Management Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was given the task to implement the project.  Akhtar Bohra, Director of Unico Management Solutions said that it was easy to implement a plain vanilla solution at the premises, but since the premises itself was big and congested, a tweak to the planning was needed.  Hence a wide coverage rotating camera was installed bang in the middle of the Mandi and the remaining areas were covered using fixed cameras.

Director, Krishi Mandi, Sanjay Vyas said that this project will ensure that the administration can keep a watchful eye on the proceedings within the premises and even the customers and visitors to the Mandi can be rest assured of the safe keeping of their belongings, vehicles, etc., which was not the case earlier.  He also said that with successful implementation at Krishi Mandi, it is expected that other zones would review implementing such a solution.
