Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) has finalized its plans for bringing water into Lake Fateh Sagar and Lake Pichola from Lake Badi. This is being done with the objective of ensuring no cut-down in water supply during summer season.

I G Khan, Chief Engineer at the Water Works department informed that preparations have been started for bringing in water from Lake Badi to Fateh Sagar and Pichola lakes. 25 mlt is set to be brought from Lake Badi into the two lakes.

Department has made plans for ensuring completion of work by 15-March so that water can be transferred to both the lakes from Badi. Rs 8 Cr is being spent on this exercise.

Water from Lake Pichola is used for providing water to the city area while Fateh Sagar water is being supplied via Dewali pump house.

It is still winter and water level of Fateh Sagar and Pichola have already dipped significantly. This plan of filling up the two lakes will not only help in providing water to citizens but will also provide a big fillip to tourism.
