Goods once sold will not be….???Jago Grahak Jago!!!
Be aware of your rights as a consumer.
Goods once sold will not be taken back is the common tag that consumers see on the bills that they receive for the products they buy. As per rules, if a consumer is dissatisfied with a product, he has every right to return that particular thing. No shopkeeper can refuse to take back the product. As per Consumer Protection Rights Act 1986, there is a provision of legal action under Section 14 against any shopkeeper who refuses to take back a product. It is just that consumers are not aware of their rights.
Following this, the merchants in the Tibetan market selling woollen clothes have been instructed to remove the “Fixed-rates” tags from the area. Also they have been directed to issue bills to the consumers. If they fail to follow these directives, action will be taken against them. The merchants have been given a period of 7 days to respond in this matter.
A toll free number has been provided to the consumers on which information can be provided against any shopkeeper if he does not provide bills and refuses to take back the sold product. The consumer toll free number is 1800-180-6030.
