Ashok Nagar area suffered due to high voltage that ran through the houses when a tree branch fell on the power line. Reportedly, the branch fell while the tree was being felled in Ashok Nagar. Residents have complained that electrical appliances worth lakhs of rupees got damaged in the area as high voltage ran through.

It was around 10:30 a.m. when 3 lanes in Ashok Nagar experienced high voltage in lane 9, lane 4-A and lane 5-A.  CCTV camera at an agency near Jodhpur dairy, refrigerator and motor at Om dairy, washing machine and motor at the residence of Colonel Gandhi, refrigerator at Prof. Salvi’s residence and many other electrical appliances got burnt in various houses.

The assistant engineer of electricity department at Ashok Nagar said that the department got information about high voltage around 12:30 p.m. The senior engineers went to the area and found the fault after which it was repaired and normal supply was resumed.
