December 2018 was a month of records for Maharana Pratap Airport Udaipur. The airport saw the highest number of flights arriving and departing out in a month since its inception. The month also saw the highest number of chartered flights landing and taking off from Udaipur airport.

The airport had 1860 flights land/take-off in December 2018. This included 700 chartered flights also. The big reason, of course, was the Isha Ambani Sangeet function in Udaipur. In comparison, November 2018 recorded 1321 flights.

The airport played host to 159,031 passengers in December 2018 as opposed to 1,34,103 passengers in November 2018. The number of passengers in December 2018 was a whooping 40,476 higher than in December 2017.

Interestingly, Isha Ambani Sangeet also saw International flights landing in Udaipur for the first time. For this, special permission was granted by Civil Aviation Ministry, Finance Ministry and External Affairs ministry for setting up temporary custom and immigration counters.
