The news of portability of registration number of your vehicle is sure to bring a relief to those who take their cars along on relocation because of job requirement. As per the prevailing rules, a person is required to take no-dues from the RTO department before going to the other cities where he or she needs to re-register as per the state rules. Here every vehicle owner is also required to repay taxes in a new place.

Now the vehicle owners will be spared the hassle of changing the vehicle number to suit the state. All this will happen soon once the Road Ministry plan takes off. The proposal is still under discussion at the meeting of Group of Transport Ministers. Suggestions have also been invited and the proposal will be sent for the Cabinet’s approval. Once the approval is received, the notifications will be released by November. A more detailed news is still awaited on this and public may be in for a pleasant surprise soon.
