After opening the gates of Aakodra dam and Dewas-I dam on Tuesday late evening, water has started reaching Pichola via Sisarma.

After opening the gates of Aakodra dam and Dewas-I dam on Tuesday late evening, water has started reaching Pichola via Sisarma.

Water works department had opened gates of Aakodra dam and Dewas-I dam on Tuesday to increase the water level of Lake Pichola. Water level of Pichola as a result of this flow has already increased from 5ft 9in to 6ft 6in on Wednesday evening. Sisarma river was flowing at 2 ft.

Water works department is also preparing to open the gates of Madri dam to bring in water into Pichola. Currently Madri dam has a water level of 8 ft.

Officials note that current water levels at Aakodra, Dewas-I and Madri can provide 75mcft of water into Lake Pichola.
