Udaipur soon to have a direct train to Amritsar
After starting a direct train to Haridwar from Udaipur last week, Indian Railways may soon announce a direct train from Udaipur to Amritsar.
After starting a direct train to Haridwar from Udaipur last week, Indian Railways may soon announce a direct train from Udaipur to Amritsar.
As per the information received, officials are exploring the possibility of extending Ajmer-Amritsar expresss to Udaipur. This train currently runs four days a week.
Towards the extension of the Ajmer-Amritsar express to Udaipur, railway officials in Udaipur have already sent the schedule for maintenace of rail racks in Udaipur and also proposed the additional stops between Udaipur and Ajmer for the train. The additional stops have been proposed at Rana Pratap Nagar, Mavli, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Mandal, Vijayanagar and Nasirabad.
The Ajmer-Amritsar train currently starts from Ajmer at 17:55 and reaches Amritsar next day at 14:45. Considering that the train has some idle time, it has been proposed to extend the train to Udaipur.
As per railway officials, this train may start as early as a month or two months. All the technical preparations for starting the train from Udaipur have been taken care off.
