Water Resource Department (WRD) has started the release of water from Aakodra dam and from Alsigarh for increasing water level in Pichola and Fatehsagar Lakes of Udaipur.

Water from Aakodra dam started reaching Pichola yesterday evening. The water reached Kodiyat situated tunnel opening after passing through 11km long tunnel. While water from Aakodra dam was released only yesterday, Pichola has been receiving water from Alsigarh for past two days.

Water flow into Pichola lake will continue for the next two days. Both Pichola and Fatehsagar lakes will be brought to the level of 11ft before water flow is stopped. Before the release of water from Aakodra, lake Pichola was at 7 ft while Fatehsagar lake recorded level of 7.5 ft.
