Born on 15th January, 2005, Bhumika Bhoi lives with her maternal aunt in Banswara. Her parents are no more. In 2014, she was adopted by the then Collector of Banswara Kunj Bihari Gupta seeing the poor economic condition of her aunt. He also used to visit her regularly. She used to be called for special occasions at the Collector’s residence even during the office of Collector Prakash Rajpurohit.
After the transfer of Collector Prakash Rajpurohit, the office was taken over by Anupama Jorwal and then by recent Collector Bhagwati Prasad. But neither Anupama Jorwal nor Bhagwati Prasad ever made attempt to meet Bhumika. No one took heed of her for either Holi or for her birthday. For the past nine months, Bhumika has not been visited by anyone which has caused a lot of pain to this little child.
Bhumika is a student of 6th standard in Central school. Though there is a provision of education expense by the administration, yet the family has to withdraw money for paying her school fees and money is reimbursed only on the presentation of the fee receipt. Bhumika’s aunt has to borrow money a number of times to pay the school fees. Bhumika feels hurt that her “Collector Papa” doesn’t even call her anymore.
