In a bid to attract tourism, district administration has granted license for training people for paragliding and solo flights in Rajsamand. The license has been granted to pilot Ajit Pratap Singh and he is expected to start coaching people from next month onwards.
Venue identified for the training is Morjan hills in Kesuli village as it was recommended safe and suitable for carrying out the training sessions.
Paragliding is performed with the use of a light weight, foot launched aircraft without any rigid structure. The pilot is tied to the structure using a harness. Fabric wings are attached as aids for flying.
Singh informed that the training schedule is for 10 days and any healthy person above the age of 12 can participate. Training will cover basics like launching, turning and landing before the individual sets out on his/her solo flight.
Singh also informed that they have procured the equipment, helmets and safety belts and testing is currently being carried out.
