District Basketball: Udaipur Team in Super 8

56th State Level Basketball Tournament (Under 17 & Under 19 Boys) organized under the ageis of MDS Senior Secondary School, Udaipur was inaugurated by the Member of Parliament, Mr. Raghuveer Singh Meena in a function held at MDS Sector-3 Campus.

 

56th State Level Basketball Tournament (Under 17 & Under 19 Boys) organized under the ageis of MDS Senior Secondary School, Udaipur was inaugurated by the Member of Parliament, Mr. Raghuveer Singh Meena in a function held at MDS Sector-3 Campus.

The inaugural function was presided by the Director of MDS, Dr. Shailendra Somani with eminent personalities of Udaipur including Mr. Deepak Sukhadia, Mrs. Sajjan Katara, and Mr. Govind Singh Chundawat who is also the Sports District Education Officer.

In all 65 teams comprising of more than 1000 players took part in this championship.

Every player was examined medically before qualifying for the play-offs. This has been a remarkable tournament organized efficiently by MDS and Sports authorities of District Education Office, Udaipur.

“This has been a very satisfying tournament so far,” says Mr. Suresh Chandra, chief supervisor of the tournament. Even the management of MDS Sr. Sec. School regarding the venues, facilities to the teams and officials was of very high standard.

Dr. Shailendra Somani, Director, MDS Sr. Sec. School who has organised this tournament says, “Our first priority was that the visiting teams, officials and players must feel comfortable during their stay in Udaipur. The standard of games displayed by the school students during the tournament is really remarkable and outstanding.”

A total of 8 matches were played in the under 17 category and 18 matches were played in the under 19 category. After the matches the following teams have qualified for the Super League matches: Kota, Sikar, Jaisalmer (H), Ganganagar, Udaipur, Jaipur-1, Nagor, and SS Bikaner. Super league matches will start from 17th September at Fateh School and Gandhi Ground.
