Today on 29^th December 2010 The National Kick Boxing championship 2010 started at  Maharana Bhopal Stadium’s playground, Udaipur. Prince of Udaipur Lakshay Raj Singh Mewar inaugurated the event.

For the coming 3 days, teams from 16 different parts of India will be testing there punch and kicks in ring. All 16 teams are divided into 3 sub Groups i.e Sub Junior, Junior and Senior. Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh constitute the 16 teams.

To initiate the program, players of Sub Junior Groups played in the ring. A small dance was performed by the local dance group.   According to  Mr. Vishnu Joshi administrator of this sport event, finals will be played on 31^st of December between all the respective groups.

Other Chief Guests for the day were Mr. Lal Singh Jhala, Mr. Mathuresh Nagda, Mr. Hemendra Solanki and Mr. Jagdish Raj Ji Shrimali. However, because of the recent protests being carried on by Gurjars in different areas of Rajasthan, many athletes could not make it to attend this championship but the management authority is quiet optimistic for its better output. Kick Boxing is one of the martial arts, and played as a standard Sports. Unfortunately, despite of many talented kick boxers, there is never such event organised in Udaipur.
