Government of India’s project on Bullet trains is gaining momentum with High Speed Rail Corporation (HSRC) conducting feasibility studies on the various rail corridors. Delhi-Mumbai corridor is being planned as an extension of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor.
Stations falling in the Delhi-Mumbai bullet train corridor would include Gurgaon, Jaipur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat.
HSRC has already submitted final feasibility report fo Delhi-Kolkata corridor and Delhi-Amritsar corridor. HSRC expects to submit final feasibility report of all corridors by year end.
A company called National High Speed Rail Corporation has already been formed by Indian railways for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project.
Work on the high speed corridors is expected to start in 2021 and expected to take 15-20 years for completion.
