11 May, is celebrated as National Technology Day, to commemorate the success stories of India’s technological innovations. This day holds importance as it was on 11 May 1998, that India successfully tested nuclear bombs in Pokhran.
Radio City, 91.9 FM is, however, in light of today being Technology day, is bringing you a technology focused event on the morning of 11th May, and centering it around “Udaipur se Technology ka rishta“.
Over the last decade, Udaipur has established itself as a IT hub in Rajasthan, with technology companies springing up in this small and beautiful valley of lakes – some of them catering to local markets, while some, catering to the giants of the world – the likes of World Bank, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Oracle being served by companies operating out of Udaipur. And mind it…none of them are branch offices…they are born and brought up in Udaipur by techies from our very own city, who chose to either adopt the city of their birth and education as their karm bhumi or move back from bigger cities and convert this small tourism dominant town into a major hub for IT services – be it technology marketing, BPO/KPO services, technology product development, digital marketing, you name it.
Radio City will be interacting with Ravi Soni, co-Founder of Obbserv, a major player in the digital marketing space, operating out of its prize winning corporate office at Panchwati, Udaipur. The motive behind this conversation, will be to bring to light the IT sector of Udaipur, who, for most part is operating in closed spaces most of the day and the faces behind the globally well known IT companies of Udaipur, not visible among the general crowd one would regularly see at Fatehsagar or other hang out places. They are a focused lot, committing a major part of day in ensuring that the city becomes a destination highlight for Information Technology services.
How IT professionals perceive Udaipur? What is the relation that Udaipur has with Information Technology? Why should Udaipur be called the IT Hub of Rajasthan? Is Udaipur to Rajasthan what Pune is to Maharashtra? Does the IT and IT services of Udaipur have enough career potential to attract talent from outside Udaipur? Does the city produce enough talent locally to cater to delivery of quality services to local and international clientele? Does Udaipur and the IT companies in Udaipur have it in them to become the destination of choice when it comes to relocation options for IT professionals working outside the city? Should these IT Professionals look at Udaipur to providing them with rewarding professional growth? What kind of services do the IT companies in Udaipur offer to their clients? What is there today and what is possible tomorrow?
…are some of the questions that will be dealt with when Radio City interacts with Ravi Soni of Obbserv. Radio City and Obbserv, both have the Rag Rag mein Udaipur quotient and this will be a conversation to hear out, beginning 8:30am on 11th May.
