A lady passenger carrying live bullets was arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), New Delhi. The live bullets were noticed in her baggage.
Pragya, the accused, was on her way from New Delhi to Udaipur with her mother. She was intercepted by CISF after they detected a live bullet in her baggage.
CISF stated that they found a round of .32 caliber from the woman’s bag. CISF asked her to present valid documents for carrying the ammunition. When Pragya could not produce the documents, she was handed over to the police.
Pragya was arrested under Arms Act and was offloaded from the flight. Carrying arms and ammunition in aircraft is banned under aviation and other laws.
