8-year old Labdhi Surana brought laurels to herself, her family, Udaipur city and India by winning a gold medal and a bronze medal in 39th International Speed Skating Kriterium in Gross-Gerau, Germany. The tournament was held from 28-30 April.
Labdhi also came 3rd in the overall ranking in the championship. Labdhi participated in the under-8 category and represented India in the 100 mtr, 200 mtr and 300 mtr races.
As per details posted by Labdhi’s mother, Anjali Surana on her Facebook page, Labdhi faced tough times during the competition. She fell, she bled, but she did not stop.
Anjali said that Manjeet Singh, Labdhi’s coach helped her with her foundation and gave her the roots to grow. She also complimented her training coach Rajveer Singh for pulling her up whenever she got demotivated.
Anjali also thanked CPS school for their unconditional support and providing her with the CPS track which now has become her second home.
