Udaipur gets 20 mm of rain in 30 min

Sunday was a good day for Udaipur city. The day was cloudy and humidity was its peak since morning. The blessings came down in the form of rain. The city received 20 mm of rain in a span of 30 minutes. It was around 3:45 p.m. when the rain showers began. Within 30 minutes, the roads were full of water. Chota Madar was up to its capacity and water flowing into Fatehsagar Lake via Swaroop Sagar linking canal raised its level to 5.45 feet.

Bada Madar is still overflowing though the force is quite slow. Pichola is getting its share through the overflowing Sisarma River. Goverdhan sagar is full at 9 feet and water has started overflowing. Once Chota Madar starts overflowing, the water will prove to be a boon for Fatehsagar.

Akodara dam is yet to receive water. The dam’s capacity is 18.40 meters but it has received only 4 meters of water. Madri dam which has a capacity of 34 feet has only a little over 22 feet of water. Devas (I) which has a capacity of 34 feet is now at 30 feet as the gates of this dam were lifted to fill Lake Pichola and Fathesagar. The lakes are still getting water from Devas (I) dam.
