The local Bohra community celebrated the birthday of Hazrat Ali – Youm-e-Wiladat-e-Maula Ali. Celebrated as Ali Day, the entire community got together in the after hours today, as a procession consisting of children of the community was taken out in the Bohrawadi area.
This Juloos (Procession) was coordinated by the School of Deeni Taalim, and began from the Jamaatkhana and proceeded to Rasoolpura Masjid. Children were predominantly managing the procession and were being watched in awe by their parents and other onlookers from the community.
Earlier, on the eve of Ali Day, a Majalis (sermon) was held at the Vajeehpura masjid.
School of Deeni Taalim had also organized an exhibition at the Nikaah Hall of the Jamaatkhana at Bohrawadi. The exhibition, which was largely attended, consisted of display of books on Maula Ali, paintings and calligraphy works – all made by children of the Bohra youth community. A Majalis was also organised today evening, after the Juloos, where Mulla Ali gave his sermons on the personality and teachings of Maula Ali.
Many members of the community kept a fast on this day. The celebrations concluded with a community feast at the Jamaatkhana.
