A few days back I came across an album on my facebook community page AmazingUdaipur. This album was unique, it had some very beautiful and classic pictures of Udaipur. I also had about 140+ such pictures which one of my friends gave me. So, I thought why not share best of these pictures on UT. All the pictures date between 1800-1900 AD.
Sadly, I don’t know the name of the owner of these pictures. But, yes I am thankful to the person who kept these photographs safe with him/her. Neither I nor UT claim the ownership of these pictures.
Instead, our aim is to preserve these pictures in a digital format for years. I request you not to use these pictures for commercial purposes or claim as your property. To prevent misuse/commercial use I am sharing these pictures in a lower resolution. Hope you like these and cherish the memories of the stories your grand parents used to tell.
If you also have pictures of Udaipur’s Golden Era you can mail us at udaipurtimes@gmail.com we will share them here.

Wonderfull Pictures, Feeling Like awsome….. it was so beautifull….those mud huts just below the palace….missing udaipur.
You need to take the photos of the same scene today, so we can compare and keep a record for next 50 years.
THANKS PUNEET
I WILL PIONT OUT THE STATUE IN FRONT SARASWATI LIBRARY (VICTORIA LIBRARY) IS OF QUEEN VICTORIA.IN SIXTIES I SAW IT LYING IN THE CORRIDOR OF THE LIBRARY AND LATER SOME ONE MADE GOOD WITH IT(FOR PROFIT).
THANKS FOR YOUR DIWALI GIFT
AMAR
Yes, I noticed it and am glad that you pointed it out. I hope that others noticed this as well. Now, there is a statue of our Father of the Nation. And, I guess Sarawasti Library was initially named after Queen Victoria. I am not quite sure but I think I read it somewhere.
THANK YOU PUNEET.
awesome collection.. just loved it..!!
Please provide a link to download these wonderful pics at a time .
Thanks in advance.
will try to do that as well. 🙂
Wow!! Wow again!!!
Nice to see our udyapur (UDAIPUR) city , in His Golden Time
Udaipur is always beautiful .Nice collection
Stunning photographs. Thanks Puneet for such a treat. I’m very fascinated by what familiar, crowded places looked like in the older years. Suraj Pole, Hathi Pole, Chetak in their black and white era! Wonderful!
After seeing all these pics, the heart says only one thing…
Udaipur was beautiful earlier and is a mess now. Nothing have changed in aspect of looks of FS, SS, US, DT, P, SP, DG, HP, etc. Just the traffic has increased and the city has become crowded, else all the tourist destinations are same as they were before 200 yrs.
Amazing and wonderful, it shows our golden period of Udaipur, our land. many of the places and not changed till date. they as as such as they were from build.
lot of thanks and blessing to the one who published these rare blessings
Thanks Manish for all your kind wishes and blessings 🙂
Great
thanx for providing awesome pics.
dat is jst amazin….dat is vry own unsen udr….
How about then and now?
well, then the length would have doubled..!!! So, I dropped the idea of now and then. 🙂
Katro badli gyho Mharo Udaipur !! 🙂
Very nice. I will show this to my father who witnessed udaipur around 1950s. I am sure it will remind him old days.
Many thanks Garima, for bringing Udaipur in my room. much delighted.
Regards to family.

Cant thank you more for the pics! gr8 work..keep it up!
Dear Puneet,
nice collection of udaipur, if you have more pictures kindly upload.
Splendid Pictures!!
why u gave ur photo !!!!!!!
Its really awesome, but i still believe that some of the photos doesnt have the right notifications, for eg chetak circle says 1955, at the background it says moonlight drycleaners and a cocacola hoarding….i cannot digest that.
Also hathipole says 1951, see the row of bicycles at the back do you believe that many bicycles were there, during the 1960’s beyond Ghanta gar and down the lane toards hathipole it was all jungle people used to go for their nature calls….
Nevertheless, Awesome .
nice collection…
Great Collection…………………………….!

Udaipur… heaven in those times…and heaven in the present time…
exellent work
Mind blowing!!!
what’s the best part is that most of the places are still the same but usually lost their aroma but its a real treat to see.
Dear Puneet,
Brilliant. Awesome collection. Could not take my eyes off until I went through the complete collection. “Udaipur” is after all “Udaipur” and people just for no reason call it “Venice of East”.
Look at Suraj Pole pics, how awesome, beautiful and spacious……
supurb collection……..!!!!!!!!
wowwwww now that is what i call a classic collection , loved it from bottom of my heart
Unbelievable Photos…really b’ful.Could not believe my eyes. Thanks for sharing..
शायद ये तस्वीरें श्रीमाल फोटो स्टूडियो की हैं , पर पक्का नहीं कह सकता . इस खजाने के लिए धन्यवाद !
@अमर ,पुनीत ,
Thanks Himanshu for adding more info.
Pls provide a link to download all these pics..

Amazing collection, magnificent album.
The pictures give a nostalgic sensation.
I could only say WOW!! These photographs took me back in to my childhood days while I was studying at MMPS. Many pictures are of places close to school like Tripoliya, Jagdish Mandir, City Palace and the Lake Pichhola. It was truly awesome to see these pics and enjoy them.
I just wished the time stands still!!! Whoever had done this job of posting these pics on UT – Hats off to you! Tremendous job. Keep posting new pics. Though I am in South-Central Africa now but when I go back to Udaipur, I will definitely try to find out some pics that I can upload.

wah.what a collection. thanks a lot
Hey its wonderful awesome i like to see old udaipur pics……………………..

MIND BLOWING
I left udaipur in 1969 and these pictures reminded me of my years spent in my birth place till 1969. Filled me with nostalgia. What a place it was. Although Udaipur is still beautiful, but during those days it was heaven on earth. I miss Udaipur of those days- green, cool, clean and on top of it very friendly and cultured. Many of those things I do not see now whenever I come there, but I still love the place…….Thanks for sharing these priceless pictures.
