A road accident on the Udaipur-Palanpur highway resulted in the death of 8 persons. The accident occurred on the Pindwara - Cantel bridge, when a truck crashed into a passenger jeep which was carrying pilgrims on their way back from Pali. 18 persons have also been injured and were immediately transported to hospital for treatment.

The accident happened when a large passenger jeep (Toofan) carrying pilgrims on their way back after paying their homage at Nadol in Pali, was hit by a truck travelling in the opposite direction. People gathered around the vehicles and attempted to pull out the passengers trapped in the jeep. Other onlookers informed the police and the team arrived with ambulances to transport the injured to hospital and take the bodies of the dead to the mortuary. All the casualties, which include 2 children and 2 women, belong to Gogunda and Jhadol in Udaipur.
