An unfortunate incident resulted in the death of a young boy at Fatehsagar, after he drowned while swimming in the lake.

Yashwant Singh, s/o Ishwar Singh, resident of Dewali, Udaipur was swimming in Fatehsagar lake, using a swimming tube.  While he was floating using the tube, another youth jumped near him, dislodging the tube from his hand.  Having lost the tube, Yashwant, who was not a good swimmer, started drowning. Seeing him go down, the other people present at the location jumped into the water and tried to save him.

However, it was late and Yashwant had drowned and his body nowhere to be found.  Divers reached the spot and started searching for the body.  The body of the youth was found later on. Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari arrived at the spot with police.  The Mayor is said to have rebuked the home guards present at the venue along with the ambulance workers.
