Two bizarre road mishaps were reported today at town hall road going towards Delhi Gate. In one, a large piece of marble stone fell over the road, crushing the road divider, while in the another incident, a bundle of iron bars slipped out of a truck carrying them; rods fell over a school van. Though, nobody is injured in both these accidents, it certainly depicts negligence of heavy vehicle owners and administration.

A marble stone, weighing more than 1000 kilo fell off a truck last night and smashed the road divider. The incident occurred at one of the sharp turns at Townhall-Delhi gate road. According to a nearby shopkeeper, a truck carrying 3 pieces of large sized marble stones was passing through; due to the sharp turn the stone slipped off the vehicle and fell over the road divider.

Truck driver fled from the scene, leaving the stone in the middle of the road.

On the same road, another incident took place today early afternoon, when a mini truck carrying iron bars applied sudden brake and due to the jerk, a bundle of bars slipped out over a school van coming behind; no one is injured in the mishap, but the school van got damaged in the incident. Surajpol Police has seized the truck with its goods and lodged complaint against the driver.

According to driver of the truck, a motorcyclist suddenly came in front of the truck that forced him to apply sudden brake. Due to that, a bundle of iron rods fell from the truck.

With growing road traffic in the city, heavy vehicles are becoming a nightmare for motorists and pedestrians. No strict and appropriate methods have been applied yet, to bring down the traffic trauma Udaipur citizens are facing each day.
