5 Bazars to be renovated under Heritage Conservation

The shops situated in the 5 inner city areas including Ghantaghar, Jagdish Chowk and Gangaur are going to be renovated to look similar in their over all appearance. For this, Nagar Nigam has sent a project proposal of Rs. 12 Cr to the state government.

 

5 Bazars to be renovated under Heritage Conservation

The shops situated in the 5 inner city areas including Ghantaghar, Jagdish Chowk and Gangaur are going to be renovated to look similar in their over all appearance. For this, Nagar Nigam has sent a project proposal of Rs. 12 Cr to the state government.

Mayor informed that the project is prepared so as to conserve and protect the heritage property situated in the inner city areas. At first, 5 main markets are included in the project after which others will be considered.

The main aim behind this initiative is to project the tradition of Mewar to the foreign tourists and also send a message to localites to maintain the heritage look.

The project proposal id for the following markets:

From Ghantaghar to Moti Chohatta: Rs. 3.25 Cr

– From Ghantaghar to Bada Bazar: Rs. 2.65 Cr

– From Jagdish Chowk to Ghantaghar: Rs. 2.20 Cr

– From Jagdish Chowk to Gangaur Ghat: Rs. 2.10 Cr

– From Jagdish Chowk to City Palace: Rs. 1.80 Cr

Under this project proposal various other provisions will be included such as:

  • Construction of public toilets and bench
  • Lighting system on 25 buildings of 5 markets including Jagdish Temple, Jagat Shiromani Temple, Thana and Asind Haveli etc.
  • Direction signs and polls with heritage look
  • Repair of Gokhade and heritage properties
  • Consideration towards front elevation look
  • Flooring outside shops and similar look of all shops
