Dinesh said that the police force is being accompanied by personnel from the RAF, and in total are more than 2 and a half times that of the previous years. He said that usually 2- 25 thousand people participate in the procession, but this time the numbers will be restricted to between 10-15 thousand. The Yatra is expected to commence at 3pm and will go on till late evening around 10pm.

He said that it is important for the procession to be held this year, as it has been hold over the last two years due to the COVID lockdown. Speaking from his experience while having served in Udaipur, Dinesh MN said that the procession holds significance for Udaipur and people across all communities have their faith associated with this procession. He added that other senior IPS Officers, who have been associated with organising and overseeing the law and order during the procession in the past, have been called to Udaipur to address the current situation and oversee the procession.

Members of both communities have been spoken to, and the administration has been assured that the Yatra will be peaceful, though the magnitude will be slightly lower than the previous years.
