Central Government is taking necessary steps to make Aadhar card necessary for buying medicines. The aim is not to trouble the public, it is to keep a watch on the diseases on epidemics for Real time analysis. So next time when you go to a chemist, do carry your Aadhar card lest you might be refused the required medicine.  This will also keep a check on the manufacturers of fake/duplicate medicines.

A senior officer from the Central Health Ministry said that information on a certain epidemic spread in a particular region reaches the central government unexpectedly late. As a result of the delayed information, steps taken do not show the right results and sometimes it becomes too late to repair a loss. To keep track of all this, the need of Adhar card has been given importance.

Whenever any person will buy medicine from a chemist, his adhar details will be fed into the web portal. This data will reach the ministry in no time. This web portal is recently under construction.  Data mapping through this portal will throw light on the area facing a certain epidemic and the medicines used for cure which will enable the government to extend help in time as per requirement.
