Udaipur citizens are going through the stress of hurry to make their Aadhaar Cards, however there are several problems which are delaying the work and ultimately the common man is the sufferer.

District Congress Committee members visited few Aadhaar Card booths installed in city and calculated the problems and also suggested some solutions to the Chief Minister by writing a letter.

According to Praveen Purohit, a congress activist who shared their letter to CM with local media, they have mentioned 5 major problems and 5 solutions to make the work easier.

PROBLEMS

· No control by any responsible authority from Panchayat. Problems of common people are even neglected by ADM city when contacted

· Common citizens are unaware about the registration booths of Aadhaar Card

· Lack of information about necessary documents required to make Aadhaar Card

· Lack of machines and Aadhaar camps/booth

· Lack of Help Desk

Technical problems based on Data Feeding of one person

According to application form, data input in the system, photograph of retina, Finger mark or Biometric Data preparation might take at least 10 minutes; however according to the assistant of contractor, even if 10 minutes are enough to feed data of one person, yet there is machine limitation that one machine can prepare data of only 60 people in day.

So, for the population of Udaipur district which is around 26 Lac and according to contractor 90 machines are installed (but actually not); and even if that’s true then too in one day, only 5400 person’s data can be processed.

If the work continues without any holiday in between, then to feed data of 26 Lac populations, the work will be done in 481 days, i.e. 1 year and 4 months; this will eventually delay the subsidy to common masses.

According to District Congress Committee, there are 5 ways to overcome this problem

SOLUTIONS

1. Appointing an officer of RAS cadre to control and monitor weekly report card, till delivery.

2. Camp should be regulated in city ward, Panchayat level and should be held in community halls.

3. With the medium of media, common mass should be made aware of important documents required to make Aadhaar Card.

4. A government official should be appointed, who can coordinate with card registration and produce its weekly report and submit to Collector’s office

5. Amendment of tender terms and increase in number of machines

District Congress Committee has suggested Chief Minister to take these points into consideration and make Aadhaar Card registration easy for common man.
