FIR against 150 More Illegal Banners and Posters

After confiscating hundreds of banners from various places of the town, Municipal Council’s movement against placing illegal banners and posters continued on the second day today. UMC submitted written complaints with photographs to the police stations against 150 new cases of violations.

Also, the appointed squad impounded more than 180 banners today from different locations including Suraj Pol and Bapu Bazaar etc.

One might see no action against hoardings that are placed high over the buildings because encroachment department is hesitant to act against them due to High Court’s stay on the issue.

S.H Bhatnagar, Incharge of the movement informed, though we are removing banners and posters from the location, but through our experience, we know that they will be being placed again the very next day. To deter this illegal activity, we are lodging FIRs and taking the help of the police.

“The main reason behind this drive is to maintain beauty of the city, as bills are stuck on walls making the city buildings and public walls look shabby”, said Satya Narayan Acharya, Commissioner UMC.
