Governor’s Third Day in Udaipur

Margaret Alva, Governor of Rajasthan inspected an Eco-Tourism site developed under the Forestry & Biodiversity Project at Kevra Ki Naal, and a MGNREGA work-site at Pilader village on the 3rd day of her four day Udaipur visit. Governor also paid a surprise visit to a Primary School and Anganbadi at Paloona village.

Margaret Alva, Governor of Rajasthan inspected an Eco-Tourism site developed under the Forestry & Biodiversity Project at Kevra Ki Naal, and a MGNREGA work-site at Pilader village on the 3rd day of her four day Udaipur visit. Governor also paid a surprise visit to a Primary School and Anganbadi at Paloona village.

At the Eco-Tourism site, Alva hoped that the new tourism site will create job opportunities for local tribals.  Administrative officers, namely, Dr. Subodh Agrawal, Divisional Commissioner; Hemant Kumar Gera, District Collector; Hariprasad Sharma, Superintendent of Police, and O.P Sharma, Chief Forest Conservator and Deputy Forest Conservator were present with her along with Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.

The Deputy Forest Conservator informed Governor that 10 Lakh rupees have been allocated for the development of Eco-Tourism Complex.  Alva took information about the jobs being done and financial profits from them with members of Forest Security and Protection Committee at a program organized at the Eco-Tourism Site.

Manohar Singh, President of Forest Protection and Management Committee at Ogna told the Governor about manufacturing of Aloevera Juice.  Alva also learned about Extraction of Pulp from Custard Apple being done at Vaniyavad and Gogrude that has made them a fortune of 10 thousand rupees.

She asked the present rural people to reap benefits of policies in action by the Government, and instructed the administration that distribution of BPL cards be done publically.  The Collector stated that 91 thousand BPL families have been provided with Electricity Connections in the first phase of the Scheme and the proposal for second phase has been sent.

Margaret Alva surprised the staff at the Primary School and Anganbadi Center at Paloona when she reached there without any prior news of her arrival.  She tasted the Mid-day meal served to kids and talked to them to assess the quality of education being delivered.

On another surprise visit to Pilader village she inspected the work being done under MGNREGA scheme and lauded villagers for their cooperation.

Margaret Alva addressing at Fisheries Development Center said, “My Husband used to import and export fish, therefore I am well aware with your problems”.  She suggested that owners of fisheries should culture fish in artificial ponds to improve their financial position.
